A Neighbourhood Plan not only covers housing development but can also look at an array of other areas as well such as the local economy, green spaces, footpaths, cycleways, utilities, landscapes and many others. Many of these areas are covered by existing County and District policies but the WNP may expand on these if appropriate (but it can’t change them).
A Scope document was produced for the WPC at the start of the WNP process and this discusses the broadest possible scope in more detail and has annexes which expand on the areas that might be covered. As the plan progresses the scope may be narrowed down as a practical matter or if the community as a whole does not support work on a particular area.
